jmux

jmux is a tool that helps developers manage multiple tasks and coding environments all within their terminal. It works by organizing different agents and development setups inside tmux sessions. This means developers can run many tasks at once and easily see which ones are in progress, finished, or need a look. jmux can work with different AI coding assistants like Claude Code and Codex, and it plays well with other terminal tools developers already use, such as code editors, Git tools, and command line interfaces.

The main idea behind jmux is to make development easier without making people switch to new tools. It runs on a developer's own computer or wherever they work, so their projects are always available. Because jmux uses tmux, users don't get locked into one system. They can keep using their current tmux settings and plugins. If they stop using jmux, their tmux sessions keep working normally.

Key features include a sidebar that shows all the different sessions, organized by project. It displays the session name, the code branch being worked on, and its status. Special flags will pop up to let developers know when an agent needs their attention, like when a coding task is done. Switching between these sessions is quick and easy using keyboard shortcuts or by clicking. There's also a command menu that lets users find and run actions without having to remember complex commands.

jmux works with many tools, including those for managing Git projects, AI coding helpers, terminal based Git interfaces, and command line tools for GitHub and GitLab. To install jmux, you need Bun and tmux. The installation is quick and doesn't take up much space. jmux can even help install tmux if you don't have it yet.
