Trustworthy AI Hackathon
Overview
The Trustworthy AI Hackathon challenges student teams to apply responsible AI principles and improve the technical accessibility of datasets. You'll explore how AI impacts society by designing tools, analyses, or prototypes that are technically strong, transparent, and trustworthy, using public-interest datasets.
Requirements
This hackathon is for college students aged 18 and older, and it's open to participants in the US only. Teams must submit a GitHub repository or shared project link, a short README explaining the problem, approach, and impact, a 2-3 minute demo-ready explanation, and a note on how AI tools were used. All projects must be explainable by the team and submitted by March 1, 2026, at 5:00 AM UTC.
Prizes
There is a total of $3,700 in cash prizes. Five winners will receive cash prizes for specific problem statements ($625 for four winners, $600 for one winner). Additional cash prizes of $100 each are available for Most Pull Requests (accepted by 2 pm and 4 pm), Most Innovative Use of AI, Longest Prompt, Worst AI Fail, and Best Team Name.
