Toronto Anthropic AI Hackathon
Overview
This hackathon challenges you to use Anthropic's Claude API to build safe, creative, and human-centered AI systems. You'll work on projects focused on areas like reasoning, accessibility, education, and civic tech. The event involves building your project over November and presenting it live at the University of Toronto's Bahen Centre for Information Technology.
Requirements
Teams can be any size and are open to participants worldwide, as long as they are above the legal age of majority. To be judged, you must submit a project by the deadline. This includes a demo video or presentation (max 5 minutes), a GitHub repository with all source code and a README, and a written project summary (under 500 words) explaining your problem, solution, impact, and how Claude was used. You'll also need to select which track(s) you're submitting to: Reasoning Systems, Human-Centered AI, or the Agentiiv Scholarship Challenge.
Prizes
There are 5 non-cash prizes available across different tracks. These include awards for the Best Track 1 Project (Reasoning Systems), with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. There are also 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for Track 2 (Human-Centered AI) and Track 3 (Agentiiv Scholarship Challenge). Additionally, there's a 'Best Overall Hack' award and a 'Runner-Up, Best Overall Hack' award.
