Teca Hacks
Overview
Teca Hacks is Manteca's first online hackathon, inviting students aged 13 to 21 to build any project they're passionate about. This is a self-paced, remote event where you can work alone or with a team. The goal is to create something meaningful and potentially showcase your work to industry professionals from companies like Google, Tesla, and Amazon.
Requirements
Participants must be between 13 and 21 years old and can be from any country, with standard exceptions. You can work individually or as part of a team. Submissions are due by December 31st at midnight and must include a working project, a written description of what it does and the problem it solves, and a GitHub link or code file. A demo video is recommended. All work must be created during the hackathon timeframe.
Prizes
There's a total of $14,475 in prizes. The top three winners receive cash prizes ($800 for 1st, $600 for 2nd, $400 for 3rd) along with gift cards for teammates. There are also specific awards for Best Solo Build ($75), Best AI/ML ($300), and Best UI/UX Creativity ($300), each with accompanying gift cards. Additionally, 300 participants can receive participation gifts valued at $40, including a digital sticker pack, a t-shirt, and a notebook for the first 50, though these physical items are limited to U.S. participants. Note that the cash amounts listed are the value of the prizes.
