Sheridan Datathon 2025

Overview

Sheridan Datathon 2025 is Sheridan College's main data-focused competition, taking place over 24 hours at the Hazel McCallion Campus. You'll work in teams to analyze real-world data, uncover insights, and build software projects. It's a great opportunity to practice data science skills and collaborate with peers.

Requirements

This hackathon is for participants aged 18 and older who are students. Teams can have up to 5 members, and you can find teammates on their Discord server. You must use a public GitHub repository for your project and cannot work on pre-existing projects or code before the event starts. Submissions require a link to your GitHub repository, any deployment links, and an optional but recommended 1-3 minute video demo.

Prizes

There are 8 non-cash prizes at Sheridan Datathon 2025. The top three teams receive gift cards ranging from 100 CAD to 250 CAD per member, plus recognition on social media and a coffee chat with a hiring manager for first place. Special prizes include 60 CAD gift cards per member for Best Use of Gemini API, Best UI/UX Design, and Best Use of Google Cloud. The People's Choice Award comes with a 30 CAD gift card per member. There's also a 'Hidden Track' prize to be revealed at the closing ceremony.
