OESTECH Hackfest 2025 (Puerto Rico)

Overview

This hackathon challenges university students in Puerto Rico to develop innovative solutions for real-world problems with a focus on impact-driven entrepreneurship. Participants will learn to transform ideas into viable ventures through hands-on prototyping, business model training, and mentorship. The goal is to empower the next generation of student innovators to shape Puerto Rico's future.

Requirements

This hackathon is open to university students in Puerto Rico who are 18 years or older. Companies and professional organizations are not eligible to participate. Teams must submit a 5-minute pitch presentation covering the problem, solution, market, business model, and team. Additionally, teams need to provide a 1-minute demonstration of a working prototype. Acceptable prototype formats include clickable mockups, AI-generated prototypes, simple functional demos, or visual hardware demonstrations.

Prizes

There is $3,500 in cash prizes available. The first-place winner will receive $2,000, the second-place winner will get $1,000, and the third-place winner will be awarded $500.
