Nexa × Qualcomm On-Device Bounty Program — Mobile

Overview

This hackathon challenges you to build a real on-device Android AI app using NexaSDK that runs on the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. You'll focus on creating privacy-focused, local-first, and budget-friendly applications. The event aims to showcase the future of on-device AI and reward builders who are early adopters.

Requirements

Participants must be 18 years or older and reside in specific eligible countries. You need to build a working Android AI app that runs locally on the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU using NexaSDK. Phase 1 requires submitting a working Android demo. Finalists from Phase 1 will proceed to Phase 2, where they need to submit their app live on Google Play or as a publicly installable APK with documentation. The judging criteria include functionality, commercialization potential, originality, presentation, and community engagement.

Prizes

The hackathon offers over $6,500 in cash prizes, plus other rewards. There are three Finalist Winner prizes, each receiving $500 cash, a flagship Snapdragon-powered device, marketing and partnership opportunities with Qualcomm, and expert mentorship for Phase 2. The Ultimate Championship winner will receive $5,000 cash and an Edge AI Impact Award Certificate. There are also three Editor's Choice awards with social highlights and badges.
