Midwest Blockchain Conference Hackathon 2025

Overview

This hackathon challenges participants to build the next generation of on-chain applications, focusing on either the Solana or Base ecosystems. You'll have the chance to turn innovative ideas into working prototypes with mentorship from experts in the Solana and Base worlds. It's a great opportunity to push the boundaries of onchain development and showcase your creativity.

Requirements

Participants must build an original project created entirely during the hackathon week, from November 30 to December 5, 2025. Each team needs to choose one main track: Solana or Base. For the Solana track, you'll build apps using Solana tooling, and for the Base track, you'll build EVM-compatible apps. Teams can also submit to optional bounties from Polymarket and Circle. Your project should demonstrate technical skill, a clear solution to a real problem, good user experience, and a polished working feature. Submissions require a public GitHub repo, a README, a demo video, and a technical summary. All participants must be above the legal age of majority in their country of residence and must be students. This hackathon is open to participants worldwide, excluding standard exceptions.

Prizes

There's a total prize pool of $40,000 in cash. For the Base track, 1st place wins $5,000, 2nd place gets $2,500, and 3rd place receives $1,000. The Solana track offers more prizes: 1st place wins $7,500, 2nd place gets $4,000, 3rd place receives $2,000, 4th place gets $1,000, and 5th place wins $500.
