Intelligent Planet Hackathon 2025

Overview

This hackathon challenges students to build sustainable and intelligent solutions for global issues using Google AI technologies like Gemini and Vertex AI. The goal is to create digital solutions for challenges related to clean energy, sustainability, mobility, and AI ethics, inspired by KFUPM's research and Saudi Vision 2030. Participants will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge Google tools and have the chance to contribute to real-world impact.

Requirements

This hackathon is open to all undergraduate and graduate students from recognized universities worldwide, except for countries with standard exceptions. Teams must have between 3 to 5 members, and multidisciplinary teams are encouraged. All coding and major development must happen during the hackathon period, and the final deadline for proposal submissions is October 31, 2025. Finalists will be sponsored to attend the multi-day finale at KFUPM in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in January 2026.

Prizes

There is a total of $15,000 in cash prizes available. First place will receive $7,000, second place gets $5,000, and third place wins $3,000. Additionally, all finalist teams will receive a fully sponsored trip to Saudi Arabia for the hackathon finale, including travel and accommodation. Winners will also get access to Google Upskilling Programs and media exposure.
