Overview
This hackathon challenges students to create practical solutions for global health crises. You can develop business plans, systems engineering concepts, product ideas, or software. The goal is to address critical health issues, and winning projects get support to become real social enterprises.
Requirements
Participants must be students aged 13 or older. Teams can have between 1 and 4 individuals. The event is open to students worldwide, with standard exceptions for trade restrictions. You'll need to submit a business plan with a SWOT analysis by October 20th. The hackathon itself is a one-day conference on October 25th at Harvard University, and at least one team member must be able to attend in person.
Prizes
The top winner receives a $5,000 cash grant to develop their idea with We Kids United, including mentorship and potential for further funding. There are also tiered recognition awards for the top 1%, 2.5%, 5%, 10%, and 25% of submissions, as well as specific awards for creativity and sustainability. All participants receive certificates.
