Hack@URI 2026

Overview

Hack@URI 2026 is Rhode Island University's first hackathon, inviting college students to build projects related to health, oceans, creativity, or beginner-friendly tech. You can also focus on AI startups, AI projects, or leverage NVIDIA technology. It's a great opportunity to gain real-world experience, learn new skills, and connect with the tech community.

Requirements

This hackathon is exclusively for college students aged 18 and older, open to participants worldwide. You'll need to build a project related to one of the main tracks: Hack to Health, Ocean's Edge Ventures, Creative Currents, or SplashZone. You can also choose one Yconic Track: AI Startup, AI Project, or NVIDIA. Your submission must include a 3-4 minute video demoing your project.

Prizes

Hack@URI 2026 features 12 non-cash prizes across various categories. The 'Hack to Health' track offers 4 Fitbit Watches, while 'Ocean's Edge Ventures' provides 3 iPads. 'Creative Currents' has 4 Wacom Drawing Tablets, and 'SplashZone' includes 4 Mechanical Keyboards and $400. The Yconic tracks offer significant cash prizes: 'AI Startup' has a $6000 prize, 'AI Project' offers $4000, and 'NVIDIA' comes with $1,000 plus NVIDIA supercomputer access. Additionally, there are MLH prizes for using specific APIs, including Google Swag Kits, Wireless Earbuds, a Ledger Nano S Plus, and an M5Stack IoT Kit.
