HackTX 2025

Overview

HackTX 2025 is your chance to innovate at the University of Texas at Austin. This hackathon is designed for students of all majors to collaborate and create tech solutions. It's a beginner-friendly environment with plenty of mentors and workshops, focusing on learning, networking, and building cool projects.

Requirements

This hackathon is open to college students aged 18 and older, located in the US only. Companies and professional organizations are not eligible to participate. Projects must be built during the event, from October 18th to October 19th, 2025. Teams can have between 1 to 4 members. You must submit a demo video that is 2 minutes or less, created during the hackathon weekend, and it needs to be publicly accessible. The video must also state the hackathon's name at the beginning. You are strongly encouraged to present a demo of your project, even if it's not fully completed.

Prizes

There's a total of $9,000+ in cash and other prizes. The 'Best Overall' winner gets $4,000 cash plus subscriptions to NordVPN products, data from Saily, and credit for nexos.ai. 'Best Novice' wins $2,000 cash, 'Best Design' wins $1,000 cash, and 'Best Celestial-Themed' and 'Best Human Intelligence' each win $1,000 cash. There are also numerous special prizes from sponsors like MLH, Toyota, NorthMark, and Capital One, including tech gadgets, gift cards, and software subscriptions.
