Hack the Source
Overview
Hack the Source is an open-source hackathon hosted by Seneca College students, inviting innovators everywhere to collaborate and code. You have complete freedom to create projects in any domain, from web apps and AI tools to sustainability hacks. The event focuses on creativity and collaboration, offering workshops and mentorship to help participants build impactful projects.
Requirements
Teams must submit a project description, a working demo or a 2-3 minute video, and a link to their GitHub/GitLab repository with setup instructions. Submissions must also be completed on the Devpost page, including team member details and technologies used. Incomplete submissions may not be judged. Participants must be above the legal age of majority in their country of residence, and only students are eligible. The hackathon is open to all countries except those with standard exceptions.
Prizes
This hackathon offers 5 non-cash prizes. These include awards for Best Innovation, Best Technical Implementation, Best User Experience (UX), Best Problem-Solving, and Best Overall Hack. Top projects will be featured on Devpost and recognized across their networks.
