Hack the Planet 2026

Overview

Hack the Planet 2026 challenges participants to develop solutions for a better tomorrow, focusing on themes like Sustainable Cities, Food & Agriculture, Health, Education, and Climate. You can use any platform introduced at the event to build your projects. This hackathon is a great opportunity to apply STEAM principles and create impactful solutions for community and environmental challenges.

Requirements

This hackathon is open to students from Contra Costa County High Schools who are between 13 and 21 years old and currently in high school. Participants must be located in the US. Any solutions built prior to the event cannot be used. Teams need to submit a 30-second video demonstrating their solution and a slide deck for a maximum 3-minute presentation at the pitch event. More details will be provided at the hackathon.

Prizes

There are three non-cash prizes available. The first-place team will receive 3 Samsung Chromebooks and 2 Oculus Quest 3 VR Headsets with cases. Second place will be awarded Beats by Dre headphones, and third place will receive Best Buy Gift Cards worth $25 per team member. Each prize is intended for a team of 5.
