Hack the Herd Fall 2025
Overview
This hackathon challenges participants to develop AI-driven solutions for critical environmental, social, and economic sustainability issues, with a specific focus on campus sustainability. Teams will create projects that help reduce waste, energy and water use, improve operations, and ensure equitable access. The goal is to leverage AI to drive positive change and contribute to a sustainable future.
Requirements
Participation is open to everyone above the legal age of majority, regardless of programming experience. Teams can work on one of four tracks: Climate Resilience, Food Waste, Waste Management, or Transportation Sustainability. The main deliverables include a project description, a link to a public GitHub repository, and an optional video demo. Additional resources are welcome.
Prizes
The grand prize winner will receive $100 in cash. Additional prizes include a Solar Phone Charger for the Climate Resilience track, a Food Scale for the Food Waste track, an Owala Water Bottle for the Waste Management track, and a Portable Speaker for the Sustainable Transportation track. Several other prizes are also available.
