Hack For Her

Overview

Hack For Her is an online hackathon for girls aged 13 and up, focused on creating tech solutions that empower women and girls. The event emphasizes learning, collaboration, and building meaningful projects that address issues like education, health, safety, and representation in STEM. It's a supportive environment designed to build confidence and encourage young women in technology.

Requirements

Participants must be at least 13 years old. The hackathon is open to participants worldwide, with standard exceptions for restricted countries. Teams are challenged to create tech-driven solutions that uplift, empower, or support girls and women, focusing on areas like education, health, safety, mental well-being, or STEM representation. Submissions need a Devpost project page with a title, description of the problem and solution, demo (video, link, or screenshots), source code links if available, and a summary of challenges and learnings. Any programming language or platform can be used, and the focus is on creativity, usability, and impact.

Prizes

There is $50 in cash, specifically as an Amazon Gift Card for one winner. Additionally, the top winner will receive a six-month virtual mentorship with the Stemspiration community, offering guidance on STEM exploration and skill building.
