Hack Days In Lome Build In Public
Overview
This hackathon, 'Hack Days In Lome Build In Public', challenges students to create a decentralized communication and file transfer protocol that doesn't rely on central servers or the public internet. You'll be building a peer-to-peer system inspired by BitTorrent, incorporating encryption and AI assistance via the Gemini API.
Requirements
Participants must be students and must form teams of exactly 4 members. You need to be above the legal age of majority in your country. The core task is to build a protocol with total decentralization, data segmentation, and distribution by nodes, applying it to both file transfer and messaging. A key requirement is the integration of the Gemini API for AI assistance within the encrypted messaging feature.
Prizes
There is one non-cash prize awarded to the top three groups. Winners will receive Google Cloud credits and MLH swag. The judging criteria include Security and Cryptography, Functionality, and Architecture and Design.
