Requirements
Participants must be above the legal age of majority in their country of residence, with some specific countries excluded. The challenge requires developing a new web application or Chrome Extension that utilizes one or more of the provided Chrome AI APIs, such as Prompt API, Proofreader API, Summarizer API, and others. Submissions must include a working application accessible via a public URL, a link to a public open-source GitHub repository, a video demonstration (under 3 minutes) showing the application in action, and a text description detailing the features, APIs used, and the problem being solved. All written and video content must be in English.
Prizes
A total of $70,000 in cash prizes are available. The hackathon features several top prizes including $14,000 for the 'Most Helpful - Chrome Extension' and 'Most Helpful - Web Application' winners. Other categories like 'Best Multimodal AI Application' and 'Best Hybrid AI Application' for both web and extensions offer $9,000 each. There are also five Honorable Mentions, each receiving $1,000, and five 'Most Valuable Feedback' prizes of $200.
