GitLab AI Hackathon

Overview

This hackathon challenges you to build AI agents that help developers work faster and more securely using the GitLab Duo Agent Platform. You'll create agents that integrate into workflows, respond to events, and take action, acting like digital teammates. The goal is to automate tedious tasks in planning, security, compliance, and deployment, making software development smoother.

Requirements

Participants must be at least the legal age of majority in their country and the hackathon is open worldwide, with standard exceptions for restricted countries. Teams need to build something that removes friction from the software development lifecycle, like automating security fixes or streamlining code reviews. Submissions must include at least one custom public agent or public flow, a URL to the project, a text description of its features, and a public demo video up to 3 minutes long. Special prizes are available for using Google Cloud, running Anthropic through GitLab, and for creating 'Green Agents'.

Prizes

There's a total of $65,000 in cash prizes. The Grand Prize is $15,000. Other prizes include $5,000 for Most Technically Impressive, Most Impactful, and Easiest to Use. There are also Honorable Mentions worth $500 and special prizes like $10,000 for the most impactful use of GitLab and Google, $10,000 for GitLab and Anthropic, and $3,000 for Green Agents. Winners also receive swag points.
