GDG Winter 2026 Hackathon

Overview

This hackathon challenges you to build a resume-ready project that you can discuss in interviews. You have the freedom to create anything, from a simple web app to a complex machine learning project, with the only limit being your imagination. The goal is to help you learn and build something you're proud of.

Requirements

This hackathon is open to college students in the US who are above the legal age of majority in their country of residence. To be considered for prizes, teams must submit a GitHub repository with commit history, a 2-4 minute video explaining the project and how it was built, and all team members' Oregon State University email addresses (ending in @oregonstate.edu). Projects should have been started no earlier than Winter 2026, week 1.

Prizes

There are $175 in cash prizes available. The first place winner will receive $100, distributed as Amazon Gift Cards. Second place will receive $50, also as Amazon Gift Cards, and third place will receive $25.
