Frontera Hacks

Overview

Frontera Hacks is a 24-hour hackathon where developers can collaborate and build projects to boost innovation in the Rio Grande Valley. It's a great chance to gain experience outside the classroom and work with others who are passionate about tech. You can explore themes like Enterprise, Social Good, and Machine Learning/AI.

Requirements

To participate, you need to be a college student aged 18 or older and form a team. This event is open to participants in the US only. Your submission must include a link to a public GitHub repository with a README, an answer to questions about your project on the submission form, and a demo video under 3 minutes. Make sure to choose an open-source license for your code.

Prizes

There is a total of $255 in cash prizes. The 'Best Overall' winner gets $50. There are also prizes for the top projects in specific categories: 'Best AI/ML Project' (1st place $35, 2nd place $25), 'Best Social Good Project' (1st place $35, 2nd place $25), 'Best Enterprise Project' (1st place $35, 2nd place $25), and 'Best Beginner Hack Project' (1st place $25). Each prize amount is given to every member of the winning team.
