AWS AI Agent Global Hackathon

Overview

This hackathon challenges you to build an AI agent using generative AI on AWS. You'll use tools like Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI, and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to create agents that can reason, connect to external tools, and complete complex tasks. The goal is to create solutions with measurable impact and push the boundaries of what's possible with AI.

Requirements

Participants need to build and deploy a working AI agent on AWS. The agent must use a Large Language Model hosted on AWS Bedrock or Amazon SageMaker AI, and integrate at least one of the specified AWS services like Bedrock AgentCore or Amazon Q. It should also demonstrate autonomous capabilities and integrate external tools or APIs. Submissions must include a URL to a public code repository with all necessary files, a text description, a 3-minute demo video, and a URL to the deployed project. All participants must be above the legal age of majority in their country of residence, and the hackathon is open globally excluding standard exceptions.

Prizes

There's a total prize pool of $45,000 in cash. The first place winner receives $16,000, second place gets $9,000, and third place wins $5,000. Additionally, there are category prizes of $3,000 each for the Best Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Implementation, Best Amazon Bedrock Application, Best Amazon Q Application, Best Amazon Nova Act Integration, and Best Strands SDK Implementation.
