AeroHack
Overview
This is an advanced aerospace hackathon where you'll build a unified mission planning and simulation framework for both aircraft and spacecraft. You'll need to model real-world constraints, create feasible mission plans, and demonstrate robustness. The challenge is designed to test your systems engineering skills in modeling, optimization, and reproducible software development.
Requirements
This hackathon is for students aged 17 and older. You can participate solo or in a team of 2-4 people. All communication and submissions must be in English. You need to build a single planning engine that can handle both aircraft (UAV/fixed-wing) and spacecraft (CubeSat-style LEO) mission tasks. Your submission must include runnable code with clear instructions, a technical report (4-8 pages) explaining your approach and results, a bundle of your results, and validation evidence for both modules. Judges must be able to reproduce your results.
Prizes
There is one non-cash prize for the Overall Winner. The winning team will receive official recognition and an invitation to join a follow-on aerospace project with the organizer. Any future earnings from this follow-on project are not guaranteed and depend on its success and a separate agreement.
