Track HK institutional trades with AI

InvestEd HK is a FinTech project created for the AWS AI Hackathon Hong Kong 2025. It aims to make investing easier, safer, and more educational for people in Hong Kong. The system lets users watch live stock prices, practice trading with fake money, and get smart advice from AI.

Many people in Hong Kong find it hard to start investing because trading without enough knowledge can be risky and lead to losing money. Also, good training tools can be expensive or too complicated. InvestEd HK solves these problems.

Benefits

InvestEd HK offers several advantages. It provides real-time stock information using the Yahoo Finance API. Users can practice trading with virtual Hong Kong Dollars in a simulation mode. The system uses AI to answer questions like "what if I invested $1000 in Tech last month?" to show possible results. It also has clear visual charts that show how portfolios are doing and how risky they are. Users can create secure accounts to manage their investments, see their transaction history, and track profits and losses.

InvestEd HK was developed using tools like Amazon Q Developer for creating backend functions, checking code, and helping with AWS connections. Kiro was used to plan the project and create documentation. The team also learned about data structures like Binary Trees and sorting methods like Shell Sort and Heap Sort.

Additional Information

The technology behind InvestEd HK includes Python 3, Tkinter with ttkbootstrap for the user interface, yFinance for market data, Matplotlib for charts, and SQLite for the database. To use the system, you need to download the code, install the necessary libraries, and run the main application file. New users can sign up with a username, password, and starting balance. After logging in, users can access the main menu to start trading simulations, monitoring stocks, and managing their portfolios.
