Quest Compendium is an intelligent, AI-powered desktop companion designed to overlay seamlessly on top of your favorite games. It serves as a real-time assistant, providing game guides, an interactive playthrough notepad, and a responsive AI assistant that understands the context of the game you are currently playing.

This ensures it does not obstruct your view while you play. The application uses Google's Gemini models to act as a context-aware AI assistant. It instantly recognizes the game you are playing and can answer questions, provide strategies, or summarize lore specific to the game in progress. Users also get a persistent, markdown-supported scratchpad. This allows them to jot down lock codes, puzzle hints, or quest objectives without needing to tab out of the game. The tool includes a browser to instantly pull up optimized guides and walkthroughs for thousands of games. Additionally, the AI assistant can narrate its responses out loud using premium AI voices. This feature allows players to keep their eyes on the action while listening to answers.

Use Cases

Quest Compendium is available as a desktop application built with Electron for Windows users. It is also available as a Decky Loader plugin for the Steam Deck. When using the plugin on the Steam Deck, the tool sends a screenshot of the game to ensure answers match what is on screen. Users can select Standard, Min-Max, or spoiler-friendly Roleplay modes. The interface includes preset questions, an on-screen keyboard, and a full-screen reader for long answers. It works as a guest with no sign-in required. Users can link their Quest Compendium account by scanning a QR code to use Premium features. On the desktop version, users can link their Steam account to automatically pull in their currently active game. This syncs their library and tracks in-game achievements live.

Pricing

Quest Compendium offers a Premium tier via Stripe to support server costs and AI API usage. Premium subscribers unlock 40 Pro-level AI queries per day. These queries roll over up to 100. Premium also provides unlimited high-speed standard queries. It ensures cross-device cloud sync for playthrough notes. The free tier gives users 5 Pro and 5 Flash inquiries per day.

Vibes

This is an early beta release. If you encounter bugs, layout issues, or AI hallucinations, users are encouraged to submit an issue on the GitHub repository. They can also use the built-in Beta Feedback button in the app's settings menu. The application is built with React 19, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion for the frontend. The backend uses Node.js, Express, and Firebase for authentication and database management. The AI integration relies on the Google GenAI SDK, specifically Gemini 3.1 Pro, Gemini Flash, and Gemini Flash TTS. Payments are handled through Stripe.
