IndiePilot is a web application created to help teenagers become more independent. It offers practical tools and fun features in a safe space to help them learn important life skills.

Benefits

IndiePilot helps teens build independence by teaching them essential life skills. It uses a three-jar system to teach budgeting, allowing them to manage money for spending, saving, and sharing. Teens can also complete life skills quests and earn experience points, making learning more engaging. A special simulator lets them practice making real-world decisions in a safe environment. The app also tracks their progress using a unique Autonomy Index, which measures their growth in skills, budgeting, community involvement, and decision-making.

IndiePilot was developed using Python and Streamlit, with data stored in SQLite. Matplotlib is used for data visualizations like progress tracking charts. The application uses JSON files for quest and scenario data. Future plans include adding more scenarios, creating a mobile version, and possibly working with schools. There are also plans to improve the Autonomy Index and explore options for guardian or mentor dashboards that protect teen privacy.
