Agent Oriented UI

AgentOrientedTUI is a project exploring new ways for AI agents to interact with software. Instead of relying on the usual screen interfaces designed for people, it focuses on creating interfaces that AI agents can use directly. The main goal is to allow agents to work with information that is actively being used and changed, like a document they are editing, rather than just looking at old records of what happened.

Benefits

AgentOrientedTUI helps AI agents work more effectively by giving them direct access to live information. This means agents don't have to guess what the current version of a file or a conversation is. They can work with real objects that update as changes happen. This reduces confusion, uses fewer processing resources, and makes the agent's understanding of the current situation more accurate.

Use Cases

This approach is useful for any task where an AI agent needs to interact with changing data. For example, when an agent works with a file, it can use a special view that shows the most up-to-date version of the file, even as it's being edited. This view can be updated in real time. For messaging apps, an agent can explicitly see contacts, choose to open a chat with a specific person, and the system will update to show the new chat conversation. This model allows agents to react to events and make progress in a more organized way.
